South Carolina Diaper Drive

I have posted before, with no response. Hopefully this time I can collect some diapers for babies in need! The following info is taken from SCDiaperChange:

Why Give?*

In low-income homes, babies often spend a whole day in a single diaper.

Dirty diapers raise the risk of health problems, from skin disease to hepatitis.

Babies who cry for a long time because of dirty diapers raise their risk of child abuse.

Babies often spend 2½ years in diapers. They need almost 12,000 changes, costing more than $4,000.
Parents who can’t afford to leave a diaper supply at their child care center may have to quit work to care for their children.
State programs don’t cover diapers.
Now, I live in Sumter, SC but I plan on taking a trip to the Harvest Hope Food Bank on Shop Road in Columbia, SC. I would love to have a car FULL of diapers when I go. If you have diapers that your child has outgrown, or would like to buy a package or two of diapers to donate, I will gladly come pick them up from Sumter or Columbia. If you live further away and would like to help, I will take donations and use all money for diapers. If you visit a Piggly Wiggly, you can get a pack of generic diapers for just $3.99. While newborn and size 1 diapers are needed, the need is greater for larger diapers, even Pull Ups and adult diapers.

Please email me at Sassy8722@yahoo.com if you would like any more information or if you would like to donate. All donations are tax deductible for you, as I will not be claiming any donations, just delivering them. You can also purchase diapers online and have them delivered to me, please email me for my address. Thank you so much!

*Also, if you have canned goods, formula, baby food, or other non perishables, I will be happy to pick those up and deliver them to the food bank as well.

One other note I forgot to mention: The diaper donations will be tax deductible for you, as I myself will not be claiming any of the donations (even the ones I buy), but will simply be delivering them.

Update: I have also posted this on Twitter, Facebook, and Wish Upon a Hero. I have one person sending me a few diapers they received as samples, one person sending two partial packs of diapers, and one person who donated a dollar. I am taking the dollar and adding to it to buy the first pack of full diapers! I am so excited, and I hope you will consider sharing this post with other, even if you cannot afford to help yourself! Thank you everyone!

Another update: I have the diaper samples someone from Wish Upon A Hero so graciously donated. I took the dollar that was donated and put it towards the first pack of diapers, I got a size 3. My Mom is also trying to get Walmart (she works there) to donate diapers or a gift card, hopefully they will! We are on our way to having a car full but still need lots of help!
